Absorbent ceramic coaster featuring the Yakan weaving design. The Yakan are an indigenous muslim tribe native to the island of Basilan which is located in the Sulu archipelago of the Philippines. Yakan weaving uses bright, bold and often contrastic colors in symmetrical patterns. These fabrics have geometric patterns and vivid colors which is inpired by island living and Islamic sacred geometry. The Yakan fabric is made from dyed abaca and pineapple fibers.
