BATIK is a textile art using a technique of wax resist- dyeing applied to the whole cloth. The Batik textile usually used for Malongs, a traditional Filipino "tube skirt" bearing geometric or okir design. Malongs are often used in Maguindanao Philippines during social functions and special events such as weddings, baby hair cutting ceremonies and circumcision rituals.
