Bankuan or ragiwdiw is the local term for seagrass. We have the second highest number of seagrasses in the world and it grows abundantly in different provinces in the Philippines. The dried stalks are hand twined together to create material to make various handicrafts which provide livelihood to farmers and rural households in the regions.
